As of September 1, 2006, measures related to the prevention of asbestos dispersion and health hazard prevention have been strengthened, prohibiting the import, manufacture, and use of asbestos. The requirement for "administrative reporting of the results of preliminary surveys regarding the presence or absence of asbestos during construction of a certain scale or larger" will apply to construction projects starting on April 1, 2022. Additionally, the implementation of "preliminary surveys conducted by individuals with the necessary knowledge" will apply starting October 1, 2023.
